SMEG PHILIPPINES: A FABULOUS FOOD AFFAIR

At the end of August 2013, Mondo Cucina, Smeg’s exclusive distributor in The Philippines, joined with luxury magazine Town & Country Philippines  to present a sumptuous foodie event for 300 of Manila's most influential people – an exclusive selection of businessmen, architects, interior designers, and journalists.

The event, “The Town & Country Fabulous Food Affair” was held in the ballroom of the five-star Fairmont Makati City Hotel in the central business district of Manila.

Seven of best chefs in the The Philippines - Margarita Fores of Cibo Di M, J. Gamboa of Cirkulo, Rob and Sunshine Pengson of Goose Station, Tippi Tambunting of Masseto, Didier Derouet and Miko Aspiras from the Fairmont and Raffles Hotel, Bruce Ricketts of Sensei Sushi, and J. Luis Gonzalez of Vask – were drafted in to prepare a tasting of their signature dishes, and whip up some brand new delectable treats, from starters to sweets, cocktails to teas, there was an abundance of incredible plates and refreshments. The dishes that were presented included a number of visionary creations such as Roasted Bone Marrow served with Brioche and Beef Belly Marmalade, White Chocolate Miso and Roasted Sesame potion as a dessert, and amazing drinks such Chandon and Dragon Pearl Jasmine Tea.

During the course of the evening a silent auction was held to raise funds for the children’s feeding program of happy2help charity group. Smeg donated a FAB10 fridge and the winning bid was kindly doubled by event sponsor Summit Media.

The spectacular ambience of the venue was created by Andy Vazquez-Prada and Toni Parsons.
